ABOUT ELLIE

Hi I’m Ellie, a Physiotherapist at Injury Recovery Centre.

Throughout growing up, I have lead a very sporty background, playing a variety of sports, mainly focusing on Netball. Netball, like many sports, lead to me having to attend many sports physiotherapy sessions as a child to fix various injuries I had picked up along the way. My childhood physiotherapist inspired me with his skills, knowledge, empathy and dedication to eventually become one myself!

About 12 years later after having my mind set on becoming a Physiotherapist, I graduated from the University of Southampton with a First Class Degree with Honours. Throughout my placements and during the degree, I learnt the fundamentals of becoming a Physiotherapist and was exposed to a large variety of disciplines, which allowed me to learn quickly what I wanted to specialise in, which was MSK!

After graduating, I was able to fulfil another dream of mine, travelling around South East Asia. This was a fantastic experience but one I knew I couldn't do without enhancing my skillset first. I completed courses in Dry Needling and Acupuncture, and Instrument Assisted Massage to further enhance my knowledge. Since returning from my travels, I have been fortunate to be taken on by Olivia at IRC!

I am extremely excited to begin my career and build on my skill base which I have gained from university, woking with clients to build strength, relieve pain and overcome injuries that are causing aggravation and impacting day to day life. I have a particular interest in manual techniques, and that is something I am keen to put into practise.
